There is a movement in my family to make healthier choices for ourselves and for the environment. While we are not perfect, we are trying to eat healthier food and limit our carbon footprint whenever we can. I’m finding that once you start making better choices - you just can’t look back. So, when I started to think about opening a restaurant, the obvious choice for me was to provide not only good food but food that is also good for you.

My friends have always called me Bones (last name is Bonekemper), and I’ve been in the food service business for 20 years. When I started to think of opening my own restaurant, I noticed the growing popularity of the mobile food truck industry. This seemed to be an exciting new concept, and I quickly realized it was what I wanted to do.

This idea and the concept of a healthy burger lead to Bones’ Burgers - a better tasting and healthier hamburger. Of course, I realized that a hamburger may not be for everyone, and so I decided to add gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, great sides and ever popular ice cream floats.
